Laurie Kirby: The Phantom, Dracula, Attila the Hun, Gerard Butler has played them all, but still somehow nobody knows his name. However, that's soon the change. This handsome Scot already has a long list of films to his credit, including Lara Craft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life and Dear Frankie. His latest, Beowulf & Grendel. This busy actor, isn't taking any breaks. He recently wrapped up Butterfly on a Wheel, also starring Pierce Brosnan and Maria Bello. In October,
he begins production on a romantic comedy with Academy Award winner Hilary SwankGerry: It's beautiful and it's heartbreaking.
It's called a romantic comedy with the biggest twist you've ever seen.Laurie Kirby: This is the first time Butler is working with Swank.
Gerry: I think she's so amazing and I've met her a couple times. It's just so lovely. So I'm really excited because it's a role that I get a chance to be you know, funny and romantic. I think it's time for me to lighten up a bit.
Laurie Kirby: In his real life, Butler's been a lawyer and a lead singer in a rock band, but acting has always been his life's dream.
Gerry: Being able to work as a team and trying to create something that you think is going to say something to somebody else and that's what I love, when there's a message in the character. This is always my dream.
Laurie Kirby: On the Women's Watch, I'm Laurie Kirby, WBZ News Radio 1030.
